In recognition of their deep appreciation for the essence of the Hawaiian culture, an anonymous Maui family is offering an annual merit-based, four-year full-tuition scholarship to a qualified student of Hawaiian ancestry to attend Seabury Hall, Makawao, Maui, Hawaii. Students of Hawaiian ancestry who are applying for admissions to Seabury Hall are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to an entering new ninth-grade student who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in their academic and extra-curricular pursuits.
The applicant must also demonstrate outstanding citizenship. Proof of Hawaiian ancestry is required. The Maunalei Hawaiian Ancestry Scholarship committee, consisting of representatives of Seabury Hall, the Hawaiian community, and the donor, will select the recipient. Continuance of the four-year full-tuition merit scholarship is based on an annual review of the student’s merit and continued fulfillment of the required criteria.
To apply for this scholarship, the student must have submitted an application for admissions to Seabury Hall. The student should fill out the scholarship application form and return it along with the narratives, a copy of their birth certificate, and copies of commendation letters and award certificates documenting excellent citizenship, exceptional extra-curricular activities and community service. Other letters of recommendation are welcome and should be sent separately. A personal interview will also be scheduled. Notification to all applicants will be in early April.
